Want to personalize your event, but you feel overwhelmed? We believe that every client should have a personalized event, and we are here to give you the best ideas so that you can have a wedding that truly feels like it’s yours. From a memorable ceremony to creative thank you notes, we have you covered!
I always tell my couples, “HIRE A PROFESSIONAL EVENT PLANNER” because they’re experts at managing the planner process and creating a special day for you. But, not only can a wedding planner do that, but they can also put a personal touch on your wedding day. Stick around, because below are 10 different ways you can personalize your event!
The ceremony is one of the most important and intimate parts of your day. The majority of couples go with the standard two-sided aisle, but why go standard when you can think outside of the box and get creative with your floor plan. A great ceremony floor plan is a round ceremony set-up, where the couple is in the middle of the circular chair set-up. Don’t be afraid to get creative.
To really personalize your event, rethink who you want to walk down the aisle with, maybe you want both of your parents to walk by your side, or maybe just your mom. Remember, there is no wrong or right way to go about your day. Instead of walking down the aisle to traditional bridal music, choose a song with some significance to your relationship. Not only will it represent you and your loved one, but your guests will be more excited and entertained.
Every ceremony needs a little touch, whether that be a view, a floral installation, or some decor. Pick a unique ceremony spot such as a forest, on top of a mountain, or ocean side with a beautiful sunset. Add an arch to your ceremony. There are so many different ways you can design your arch, whether it be full of flowers, partially decorated, or event not decorated at all.
Programs are very popular to have at a wedding ceremony, it allows your guests to know what the day will look like. A traditional program usually includes the order of the proceedings and a list of the wedding party members. But why be traditional; Have a tribute to loved ones who have passed on, or event a quote that shows a symbol of your love. Your programs should have a similar feel to your wedding decor, keep things consistent and organized.
Writing your own personalized wedding vows can be a daunting task, but it’s not quite as hard as it seems. We always suggest that couples write their own vows to give a personal touch to their ceremony. Just think, this is the moment in your ceremony when you can really speak to your partner and share what’s in your heart. The few sentences that you present are not only vowed to marry you but vows to go above and beyond for the rest of your life.
One of our favorite ways to personalize your event is to get creative with your signature cocktails (or mocktails for the non-drinkers)! Incorporate both you and your loved one’s names in the presentation of the cocktails. Our new favorite trend is the selfie cocktail, where you have your monogram or face on the top foam of the cocktail. Including small personal details like this will make your wedding feel specifically yours.
Stationery items are one of the best ways to make your event truly feel like yours. It allows couples to put their own spin on things. The invitation suite is the first stationery item to think about when it comes to planning. The invitation suite is the first impression of what your special day will be like. Incorporate your style and personalities into your signage presented at your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Get monogrammed wedding napkins, have your centerpieces be a different theme, get your favorite quote engraved and hang it on some greenery. Have your signage be unique to who you are!
Make getting ready even more special with hangers carved with your girls names on them. Not only will these babies make a great Instagram picture, but, it makes your bridal party feel loved. I can promise you that they’ll cherish this special keepsake for years to come.
Now, this is not a must-have, but it sure does give a personal touch and makes a good Instagramable element for the evening. Have a custom neon sign created to either put behind the sweetheart table, behind the cocktail bar, or even use as a photo wall. It’s a small but unique way to personalize your event decor event decor.
Rather than gifting a random favor to your guests, put your personal stamp on your wedding and give a special gift. Give your guests something that is meaningful to you and your wife/hubby, that reflects your relationship. Two of my favorite favors that I received from a wedding was a family recipe and personalized measuring spoons. To this day, I use those measuring spoons daily and it always reminds me of the wedding that I planned for that couple. You want your guests to remember your day forever.
Thank you notes are such an important part of your wedding. Yes, they can be very time consuming, especially when you invite 300 people, but showing your appreciation is a small, but a sweet gesture. Add a personal touch to your thank you card by adding a watercolor portrait of you and your fiance, or including a special quote. Make guests feel welcomed and appreciated from the moment they receive your invitation, to the last song of the night!
