The aesthetic for this California Wedding design is sleek and timeline, with a loose, relaxed vibe. Midcentury modern and bohemian have a lot to offer when combined. Modern is very functional and adds a classy feel to an event, while boho styling adds character. This aesthetic & theme fits right in with a California Wedding.
Jillian Nicole Events and Leta Verbena chose a color palette of desert browns and nude hues juxtaposed with sky blue. “It felt different and so applicable to Southern California,” says Jillian. “The desert browns and blues of the open sky and desert.”
Rich brown shades with pops of blue create never-ending texture and depth in Leta Verbena’s floral wall, which serves as the backdrop for the ceremony. Gold palms, grasses, dyed orchids, and baby’s breath come together in the organic showstopper.
Classic makeup gets an update with a bold pop of jewel-toned color to accentuate the drama of the bridal gown. The makeup team complemented the bride’s natural red locks with a rich blue eye shadow to brighten and open the eyes while keeping the look soft and romantic.
“A navy or olive-green eye shadow or eyeliner can look absolutely gorgeous for a daytime ceremony and carry into the evening by giving off a sexier feel as the light changes,” says owner Kacee Geoffroy. It’s a fun way for a bride to show her personality if she likes bolder things in life.”
Atop the tables, petite arrangements of white and dusty orange roses anchor the romantic vignette. Anemones and purple orchids splash dashes of contrast.
The bride’s bouquet culls the most delicate hues from the overall design palette. Soft lavender coupled with refreshing whites are accented with deep brown leaves.
